Numbers, number, numbers 03.02.17

This week in Maths we have been learning about addition. We found out that you can use lots of different resources to help you add two numbers or two groups of objects together. We explored using bead strings, objects, number lines and numicon. We learnt actions to help us remember what the add and equals symbols look like and had a go at recording our number sentence pictorially.

On Wednesday we went down to our Woodlands area. We worked in groups to build a den, made mud soup and mud pies in the muddy kitchen and used cheerios and pipe cleaners to make bird feeders. We got very muddy but it was lots of fun!

Today is NSPCC number day so instead of wearing our school uniform we are wearing something with a number on it. We have been using our number to solve problems and sort ourselves in different ways.

This weeks Learning Owl is William. He has been chosen for his fantastic attitude towards his learning. Well done William, we hope you enjoy your weekend with Hootie!

Next week we are going to be learning all about William Morris so for your Home Learning we would like you to do some research. Who was he? What did he do? Do you like his designs? Why/ why not?
